I have a request for you. Regardless of your answer, however, you must not mention it to anyone else.

Forgive the lack of pleasantries, lovely, but are you in you inside?

We have minutes until the lockdown. You will be inside by then, yes?

The approaching deadline. Not all of my rovermates have returned.

Nothing to be done about that now. They were warned, and if they regret it it’s on their own heads.

[ Providing they still have those heads, obviously. ]

Even civilians can be resourceful, from time to time.

FROM: sturmhond@cdc.org

But I think you may be right. I’m sorry for it. It’s a pity not all of them were trained.

Hello, Ms. T'Soni. My name is Count D; Miss Gliese has assigned me as your lieutenant. I thought it would be prudent of me to make myself available as soon as possible.

Liara, then. It's a pleasure. I am at your service.

02
Miss Gliese likened this position to corralling wayward creatures. I believe you may be better informed than I, with that in mind.

Untrained in weaponry, in combat, perhaps. They may have other skills the CDC are seeking. That’s my guess, at any rate.

FROM: sturmhond@cdc.org

There are four different teams, with four different specialties. Yet for all that it’s hard for me to see this as anything but an army. Perhaps because I’m used to that.

FROM: sturmhond@cdc.org

Regardless, perhaps training the others is something we should take on for ourselves. It’s in all of our interests to be effective, and we won’t be if half of us can’t hold their own.

Ah, the welcoming committee. Perhaps our new recruits won't be dropped into overtly hostile areas, unless our over-stressed camp counts.

02
I can be very convincing.

I could. I'm an excellent shot, and a better swordsman - though, in point of fact I'm lacking my sword.

FROM: sturmhond@cdc.org

I have a good deal of experience with war, regardless. I can teach people how to operate in combat, there's no doubt about that.

Of course. I am staying in rover 25, if that's more convenient.

I'll look forward to it all the same.
